On the back of my Dolphin Bathrooms thread earlier today, where the resounding conclusing is that they're a waste of everyone's time, I've been doing some web surfing for baths and quite fancy the look of these D-shaped (or P-shaped) shower baths with the curved glass shower screen. Can get them from a trade merchants at very reasonable prices and they seem quite popular, but I wondered if the screen keeps all the water in the tub.

Anything to watch out for if buying one of these?

Have a look at slipper baths, they're great.

I have a roll-top bath with the shower head centered in the bath. Dustbin-lid type shower head, non-moveable.

The screen is 2 shower curtains, hanging from a big chrome rail that circles the bath. It doesn't stick to me while I'm showering, theres loads of room, it just clings to the sides of the bath.

You don't need one shaped to fit the wall, I just butted mine up against the wall, siliconed it in, and keep a rag at either end to soak up the water that spills over.

We've got one and the screen does a pretty good job of keeping the water in, so long as you make sure it's "in the right place". This is just a matter of letting the screen stop after a gentle push IYSWIM. It was installed by my fair hands so if it doesn't leak after my shambolic attempt, I reckon any competent person could get it not to!

One thing to remember, you need "free" two walls to attached each of the screen doors to. We didn't (there is a window on one) but this was designed and anticipated and causes us no problems. In fact we have a spare door so if you end up with the same/suitable design I am sure we could come to an agreement to take it from us if you like - PM me if interested.

I think opinion is probably mixed on these baths but I like them. They do a job admirably and save space in my book.

Cheers,
Phil.
