I know that New York has been done to death and I can trawl through past threads for what to do when I get there, where to stay etc but not sure there is too much on HOW to get there e.g. is it best to sort it out myself or just book a city break though an online outfit? Going out first week of April for about 4 or 5 nights I reckon.

Normally a package type trip will be cheaper, BUT they always end up in the same hotels. If you want a bit of something else book separately.

We managed a long weekend for around a package price by spending hours hunting around and getting a daft price in a BA sale... it's possible!
