I would like to rent a room with bar in central London for hosting a party for about 50 people. Can anyone suggest a venue or how to go about finding one (I am not London based). I am thinking room above a pub / bar. My guests will mostly be heavy drinkers so meeting a minimum spend should not be a problem

You'll probably find that most places won't charge you - they often have a minimum spend for the room of a couple of hundred quid.....

Dust is good, or if you want to go more central (West End) try Destinos

Had my 30th in a pub on the Thames in Hammersmith.

Think that was free with a min spend...

I hired Sand in Clapham before - nice venue and they didn't charge as long as you meet minimum numbers.

Jewel Bar, Picadilly Circus.
If you want more of a pub then Doggetts on Blackfriars Bridge.

Just 2 suggestions but I'm sure there will be hundereds more.

I have recently been to two functions on HMS President (www.hmspresident.com/) might be worth a lok though I don#t know if they charge nor how much etc.

The views are great and location good too.
