I'm after some trainers for general use (i.e. not running, sports etc) I like Puma ones as they tend to be a little different and quite cool but they ain't cheap. Any one know of any good websites for trainers, problem is I am a size 12 which usually limits my options.

Try sportsshoes.com, they do trainers in bigger sizes. Or you could try ebay, always loads of stuff on there in bigger sizes.

I'm size 12 as well, spent weeks at a time looking for new trainers, by the time i'd found a pair, the other pair had worn out, so had to start looking again! Ebay is where you should be looking, bought 2 pairs in the last few weeks. They fit perfectly, and i've saved both money and time shopping on ebay.
Don't want to go on, but i will! Ebay is a godsend for these kind of things, search by size, and you can't go wrong.

Yeah, I bought my last pair on ebay, just not too much I like (or can afford) there at the moment!

Don't know if you can get them in size 12, but i quite like the k-swiss range - just bought some myself for £55, and they have a rather clever reversible tongue . Or what about some adidas Stan Smiths?

If you go into your local sports store and look in the bargain bin it will be full of size 6 and 12s. The average sized mens foot is a 9 and the size 8, 9 and 10's will outsell the 7 and 11 by 4 or 5 to 1 and the 6 and 12 by 8 or 10 to 1. When I was selling sports shoes we always found that we had 6's and 12's left, no matter how few we ordered in relation to 9s. Thats why some brands stop at 11.

Don't get me started on trainers I'll be here all day.

Current faves are Oki Stan Smiths here : www.oki-ni.com/okini.storefront/EN/Catalog/Footwear

The trick is finding trainers no-one else has, no one will have those Stan Smiths, failing that if you have a Nike outlet nearby, they have mad stuff they wouldn't dare put in a normal shop. TK Maxx is trainer heaven too, get yourself some Pro Keds or Converse All Stars for £15. If you're going to splurge have a look for some Adidas Y-3 (I don't like them though) Nike ID is good for making your own trainers (I'm the King of the pub at the mo' with my name on virgin white Air Force sneaks). If you have a sprcialist trainer shop nearby have a look for 'Fly' shoes, like a hybrid of shoe and trainer, v good. Also have a root around www.fogdog.com/home/index.jsp for different stuff from our cousins over the pond
