My son (13) is getting more and more obsessed with this bloody game. I am quite perturbed by the fact and have severely limited game time and made it equal other more productive pursuits. He seems to think this most unfair.

I know absolutely shag all about games etc, all I see is a small lego fashioned knight being walked up and down a screen full of bracken, I really do not get the point. Someone on here must be able to tell me if I'm going over the top and have nothing to worry about, or is there something more sinister hidden behind the mask as it were

People have died playing MMO's.

I play them and there incredibly adictive, and total time sinks, World of Warcraft needs 8 hours or so a session at lvl 60 to realy accomplish anything (along with 20-60 other people).

Restrict his time, let him know the absolute bounds of it (say 2 hours a go, 5 times a week or whatever).

There fun but they can and do take over peoples lives.

Sometimes boundaries are for protection, thats what you are trying to do. Try making an agreement with him that he feels also comfortable with. His just going to get more angry if you just take the game away from him or limit his use of the computer by yourself. Am I making sense here

My lad used to live here too, but he's gone off it since I cancelled his subs and he cant get to the better stuff anymore. He tends to hang out in Habbo Hotel, but someone hacked his account and nicked all the furniture from his pad that he had paid for with credit from his phone, which I went nuts about when I found out. Damn funny that he was 'virtually' burgled though funniest bit was they nicked his picture of the Queen Mum off the wall

WHAT> OMG so there is an ongoing charge on it for extra stuff, and that can be bought from a mobile. Jesus I've just bought him a contract phone.
