Cash and Carry
Discussion
Does anyone shop at cash and carry for personal use? The idea of buying 20 of anything is laughable, but if you can save packet every month, and have an excuse to go wild on cases of wine etc, it cant be bad
Does anyone have any examples of actual bulk prices? I own an IT Company... they wont ask or care what line of business Im in to grant me membership, will they?

Buys stuff like bog roll, dog food, shampoo and stuff and saves a fortune. Its also handy around halloween (bulk buy sweets) christmas (bulk buy everything) and easter (bulk buy easter eggs). But the best buy by far was an american sized washing machine and tumble dryer, washer was £300 and tumble dryer £250 I think.

Yep - it should be straightforward.
We have been bulk shopping for years and storing / using as needed.
If they do question you tell them you own an IT company and have a staff canteen hence the need to bulk buy !
Not all prices are cheaper though - you still need to check, and don't forget VAT. Most advertised prices at cash and carry are plus vat, unless the item is exempt.

Yes, we buy most of our booze there as you can get a good deal on the 1.5L bottles of gordons and smirnoff..
Meat is cheap at the meat conter of Makro's. We always get some super-large sirloins then freeze em'
The golden rule of check your prices elsewhere applies as some itmes are twice the price in the shops. If you do your research you can save a fortune as long as you can resist the temptation to buy everything you see

Another Costco'er. Agree, very little business buying from anyone going on when I am there.
Occassionally some silly deals and we go a bit over the top and then have nowhere to store the stuff. I tend to buy big stuff like humungo bags of dog food, big boxes of washing powder and loads cases of Coke etc. Apart from anything else it makes shopping in the week easier as you have all the bulky heavy stuff done.
Just remember that the big price you notice on the tag is probably Vat free and the small one underneath is the real one, I always get excited at really cheap plasma tellies and then realise my error just in time to be dissapointed.

We're with Costco too. You only have to look at the contents of most trollies to realise that 95% of purchases are for home use. They're hardly gonna turn down your business.

Quite, my wife usually come sback with things like crates of pesto sauce.
"But they were only 99p instead of £1.47"
"Yes dear, but you've bought 350 jars of the stuff."
