My resistors have burnt out in my heater and I need a new set of front pads.

My local dealer is Bell and Colvill but they are FU&*%^G expensive so I would like to know if anyone knows of a decent independent Lotus specialist in either SW London or Surrey.

I have noted the post for specialist paintwork in Reading in one of the other posts.

Anymore???

Also has anyone else had the same problem with resistors burning out? If so how much will it cost? I have got A/C.

I've used specialised paintwork for 15 years and can tell you they are the best garage I've ever used.... The fact they are the only official factory warranty bodyshop speaks volumes (better work than the factory ever manage!.

Prices and rates are very good and always some very very interesting cars around when you get there to drool over.

Fibreglass Services.

Fantastic service and quality of work. Also, they are a Lotus main dealer but have the prices and service levels of an excellent independent!

Its a very old school set up and proper old school values. No flashy workshops or smart reception area. Difficult to find, the phone often goes unanswered and no email etc.

Depends what you are after. I like a proper mechanic who knows everything there is to know about Lotus' and charges an extremely cheap hourly rate.

You haven't met Miles! If he's "on form" you probably wouldn't want an email from him!

I thought the same thing Rene - but when you go there and meet Miles you can see why.

It's literally two guys in a work shop who know cars and fibreglass. Specifically, Lotus cars and fibreglass. They don't 'need' e-mail (not least because they're always very busy anyway!)

I like this old craftmanchip? a lot and knowing that they know about the things they do, and not some youngster that says he knows what he does whit no experience...
So no e-mail, and in this case I can understand a bit but still...
Though I was wondering, who then did the fantastic job to convince them to make a website must have cost some talking but thats for their own good too

absolutely spot on. Take it to any main dealer and you're almost 'scared' how the car will come back. Take it to Fibreglass Services, and you positively look forward to it (except Schnozz...because his bill's going to be HUGE!)

Did Miles/Ian tell you what is being done?!

Still cant wait to get the car back, just because I know Miles and Ian will have ironed out everything out and have it running absolutely spot on. I have a lot of faith in those 2.

No - you said yesterday (I forget where - might have been my B-service post).

My car got run into in September, cracked the rear 'bumper', bent the exhaust a bit. Got it all done through insurance and had Miles do it, and the work was absolutely spot on. Really was very impressed (and told them as such also).

It's just such a bloody pain for me to get there (1 1/2hours trip!)

A service
4-2-1 installed
Cams timed
Ball joint replaced
new lambda sensor
brake fluid replaced
HT leads replaced
possibly new catlytic converter
possibly brake replacements (unknown)

Ouch

And when Miles is done with the car, I'm heading down the tyre fitter for 4 new rubbers.
