Stereo interferance

Hi folks, for reasons best known to itself the stereo in my TVR Chimaera has started to crackle loudly when the engine is running. With the engine off it sounds fine but as soon as you start the car up the interferance returns whether on Radio or CD. Never done it before, and as i'm pretty hopeless with vehicle electrics i have no idea what causes the interferance.
I have an Alpine CD head unit running an Alpine V12 Amp and four infinity speakers. Has all worked perfectly well for last couple of years since it was fitted. Any experts on car stereos or electrics able to shed any light on this? Many thanks in advance.

Dodgy earth somewhere, or a suppressor has failed perhaps.

That's odd...mine sounds just fine with the stereo off and the engine running!
