Ultimate brakes !!

Fancy an upgrade to your 13" AP racing or Brembo discs !!
Well I when to Brembo at the Autosport show and said "Will you sell me the Carbon Ceramic discs for Ferrari/Porsche ?"
Answer "No !!"
Cruised around and found a little British company doing "Carbon Ceramic discs for road and track cars"
Apparently you can keep your calipers if you have good one and just change the disc !!
They were incredibly light compared to the steel/iron ones, so I might just cut a cheque !!

I think you will need a couple of cheques
The carbon discs on a porsche wear out after 15000 km.
And in the Porscheworkshop: Yes sir we say they last 45000 km,
but you are the only one in the whole world, so no garanty.
What they cost you don't want to know.
I think you can put 378 AP with big callipers
on your car for that money.
And I think they will overbreke
Try better/more gripping blocks.

We are talking way less than Porsche £12K costs here

What about these carbon ceramic brakes by ATS?

I think that composite brakes will become the standard in the nearish future, as the technology matures and the costs come down, a lot of research is going into these, i.e. for high speed trains where you can save several tons of weight! (Plus a lot of inertia!)
But the reduced rotating mass is the real benefit, as like with carbon clutches, it'll be quicker to spool up to speed (and slow down - ever tried to turn/stop a gyro with your hand!)
Still, at least for now there is still the 'Gucci' factor as Stig points out! - Quick before all the Chav's have them!
Wonder if it'll shave another 0.1 second of GMan's times...

Not convinved by Carbon Ceramics by a long chalk. On the track where they're working hard they're great, but for day to day use on the road where they don't get up to temp, I think they're more compromised.
Very Gucci though
I have driven a F430 with CC brakes and they were excellent even when cold. I think there are different types of CC compound, we are a long way from from F1 glowing disks I think
