16 months on, my 3R with 16,000 miles on the clock requires new CATS and complete new manifolds.
Total cost £1500 approx.
I'm not at all happy.
The manifolds were found to be faulty during my 12,000 miles service whilst the car was in warranty. However because the car went out of warranty during the two weeks the dealer had it the factory did not honor the warranty.
Whatever way you look at it it's poor service all round.

Doesn't sound right. Surely such items shouldn't fail so soon - even if the car were to be tracked!
And before anyone argues that these are highly stressed cars, and they get super-stressed on tracks, etc. - others track cars don't have this issue - and anyway if so then the factory should have issued a warning in the service handbook!

Well I've dropped Simon @ Noble a little email.
Hopefully the factory will meet me in the middle.
I don't believe I should be paying for manifolds which are known to have an issue and the design has now been changed to a double skinned version.
As for the CATS this is the first time I have heard of them going and at 16000 it's hardly huge mileage.

Not at all actually! Did it sound bitter? Oops if it did.. I don't think they're the greatest cats in the world though, but I'm sure it's the usual price trade off type thing.
Wappings drinks. We'll as I don't have much reason to go into London at the moment I dunno. Bebbs should really sort it out, as geographically he's nearest to the pub!
Trevor at Roush had them done, i believe they were piper cats, i assume they will be on/option on his forth coming exhaust. High flow cats are just what they say, they have less cells and therefore allow the exhaust gas to flow better, reducing back pressure, they work by having a higher content of the expensive metals etc that make them do their job ( i think !! *prepares to get shot down in flames*)

Cheers Alex, probably a bit too late since dealer is already doing work on my strip down car at the moment.
You'll still need the exhaust manifols etc . get Trevor to have the system made for you and shipped to the dealer -- having had mine replaced with a factory unit once already this time its getting a decent one by Rousch ....

Alex -- my understanding is that the exhaust will include the two hi flow cats ... but I stand to be corrected by Trevor.

Yes, as Mark mentioned, our system will have two high-flow cars sited pretty much where the standard cars have them. The cats themselves, as has been said before on this forum don't contribute that much to the backpressure of the system - untill they start to fall out and block the pipe, that is!! However, there are subtle improvements to be had from the whole system, which is where we are coming from regarding reliability, performance and acoustics. Definitely worth the wait and the money!!

Lucozade am I missing something? Surely if the cats were found to be faulty whilst in warranty and the dealer backs this there should be no issue, or is the Noble warranty 12000 miles( and yours is showing 16000) and that is why the they are not helping?

Manifolds were found to be faulty while car was with dealer. Dealer had car for two weeks. The car was in warranty in the first week and out of warranty in the second week - this is when the dealer discovered the manifold issue. Noble did not honor the warranty. Nothing I could have done about it as I was in Florida.
I am seriously reconsidering my position as I don't believe:
1. The manifolds should go after 11,0000 miles
2. The cats should go after 16,000 miles
Irrespective of warranty.
The problem i have is that I love my car and to start using the Sale of Goods Act will no doubt sour my relationship with the dealer and no doubt the factory. Simon - can you please reply to my email?
I'm not at all happy by the lack of support either way.

Surely the clock starts ticking when your car arrives at the dealer irrespective of when they picked up a spanner?!
The warranty running out whilst the car was with the dealer and them not honouring it is scandalous and MUST be a misunderstanding surely. Would they have paid for the work if it had been within the period? If so you need to speak to them again. In fact I am so annoyed at the principle of it I am tempted to ring them myself!!

In fact, I had a little problem months ago, in warrenty, and now it's reoccouring out of warrenty I expect it to be fixed at no cost to myself.
