Cars thieves avoid
Ford Ka post-1998
Nissan Micra post-1998
Honda Civic CRX pre-1991
Renault Clio
Skoda Fabia
Toyota Yaris
Citroen Xsara 1995-2003
Peugeot 307 post-2001
Subaru Legacy post-2001
VW Passat
Renault Clio
Volvo S40/V40
Audi Coupé 2001-2003
Mercedes 500 2001-2003
Skoda Superb
Subaru Legacy post-2001
BMW Z4
Jaguar XK8
Lotus Elan/Elite
TVR
Skoda Superb
Rolls Royce
So as most cars only do 2k a year and no-one steals them, why are they so expensive to insure???

Because they suffer highly from single vehicle crashes
Sadly. Although they are not alone in this. Ferraris, Porsches, etc have the same problem. Its been said before - having the money to pay for one is no indication as to the ability to drive it.
The upside is that if you make a few years of ownership incident free then the "good" insurance companies do appear to take this into account. Insuring the stable has got a good deal cheaper over the years...
I lived in Fulham for seven years, kept a Griffith on the street. In all that time every other single porsche and beemer got either keyed or roof slashed.
Griffith wasn't touched once. The only trouble I had was when I went to the States for 2 weeks in February and I came back to find it had filled with water as it had rained incessantly while I was away.

My insurance has never gone down despite now being 17 years free of bangs and claims and 4 of those in a Tuscan (+2 in an M3)! V. annoying.

That's RESPECT.

I've never found TVR's expensive to insure..
450 SEAC 5K mile <£300
T350C unlimited miles £700
To put this in perspective - 17 year old in a 1.4 gold £1500 TPTF..
Yes I know about age difference blah blah .. but I still think TVR's are not peanalised my Focus ST170 (previous car) was £550..
A £150 jump for a T350 is no heavy preminum.

Yes, but it's naughty of you to describe it to Saga Ins. as an 'Invalid Carriage'.
