Track day silencers from ACT

They are the same silencers as the ones below


Shiny, new... I was so excited, I'd put my shoes on and got as far as the door, before realising I wouldnt be able to test them, because my car is at dream machines this week

I'd recommend buying the silencers ACT sell from the point of view that they simply slide onto the exhaust and dont require drilling, just a tightening of the clamps, which may appeal to some people.

If anyone is interested, I'll be testing them this weekend and will come back with an opinion, as well as before and after meter readings, as soon as Ive hooked up with someone who has a meter.

Is there any problem in using these on the road, or for long periods? I love the noise of my Chim, but as it's my only car, I often have to drive long distances on motorways etc, and the noise does get tiresome...

If I knew I was going a long way, these could be a solution. I risk looking a bit of a nob, I realise....

BTW - how much did they set you back?

I'd imagine they would be fine to fit for long journeys, if you made sure the bolt was tightened up so they didnt fall off. Women aside, who knows what several hours of vibrating might do. They look/feel very robust, and I'm guessing they would do the job nicely

I still dont have a meter reading, but the silencers are fantastic! The exhaust note is much Much quieter than I had hoped/expected it would be! It actually sounded more like a speed 6 cerbie, with a standard backbox and cats (perhaps reminded more than sounded... to my untrained ear)
