Has anyone fitted the Lotus roll bar to an S1 Elise? How easy was it to fit, what are the issues, and how easy is it to remove/replace the diagonal bar to the passengers footwell. Does it affect day to day use with the diagonal out and do you have to alter any of the trim to fit it?

Not personally, but from a mates experience:

>How easy was it to fit,
It won't fit without fettling, the holes won't line up and the trim gets in the way.

>what are the issues,
Apart from a bit of filing on the shoulder height mounting holes, you need to modify the speaker enclosures and rear screen trim to get the bar and harnesses (bolt on best) in neatly, you then need to modify the roll bar cover to get it to go back on over the top clamp.

>and how easy is it to remove/replace the diagonal bar to the passengers footwell.
Possible, but not easy with standard kit as its bolted/stressed and a tight fit. Not recommeded to carry passengers, or even drive without a helmet with the diagonal in.

>Does it affect day to day use with the diagonal out
Depends what you do for belts, there are various opinions on the merits of retaining the inertias as well as your 4 point harnesses.

>and do you have to alter any of the trim to fit it?
See above, yes.
