Did anybody catch this? The recent two-parter, starring Helen Mirren.

I've just finished watching it after downloading it, and its one of the best historical dramas I've ever seen on television. Helen Mirren is her usual superb self, it also stars Ian McDermied and many other notable English actors of stage and screen.

If just the plot alone isn't enough (which is fantastic), you also get to see people being drawn and quartered. I don't think I'd ever seen somebody having their entrails removed and cooked while they watched - well I have now! Not to mention good old Mary Queen of Scots and the dramatic events at her execution. Its no surprise that HBO had a hand in the production (Sopranos, Rome etc)

The overall length is about 3.5 hours - thats a good couple of nights compulsive viewing there.
