Munich beer festival

This year, as a second boys trip away,after LeMans, we are going to
populate the Munich Beer Festival.

We are going to drive and enjoy the Autobahn, but need some help on the best place to stay
and any other worthwhile places to visit in Munich between drinking sessions.

Bloody good bash the Munich beer fest. Been quite a few times now and can't recommend it enough. Thinking about going again this year also.

The only piece of advice I'd give is to book a hotel as early as possible (especially central hotels) and if you don't book any tables in the tents then be prepared to que to get in, especially at the weekend.

Hang on - Oktoberfest is in September and Le Mans is in June.

You two are talking about two different events. Either that or you're planning on taking an extremely long time to get home from Le Mans

Beware the absolutely mental fairground rides around the beer caverns. Think of the worst ride experience you've had in the uk and then triple it!


Also if you are taking girls with you make sure they don't wear bras in the hofbrau tent (the australian/South African haunt). They have a habit of being forcibly removed if seen to be worn.......

Also - make sure you get yourseleves out to the monastery (a 20 mins train ride) nearby. They served beer and pig shoulders for 5 euro when we were there and got so pissed that we spent the entire journey back on the train singing songs naked to the normal passengers as they got onto our carriage. (it was alot more than it sounds now honest.........). Great laugh - enjoy.

Oh, and the word for 'airport' and 'campsite' sound very similar. Don't get on the wrong bus at the end of the night (or hideaway in the bus's boot to get a free ride home). The airport is miles away from munich..........
