What do you do when the spotty youth in his 1.2 corsa pulls up alongside at the lights whilst revving his engine & edging forward?
(assuming you are on an open road with no traffic)
Do you:
A : let him beat you from the lights, as you never rise to the challenge.
B : Scream off the lights to teach him a lesson.
C : Let him go for 100 Yards, then reel him in, proving your car is quicker and it doesn't matter who is initially faster from the lights.

I care about my car a whole load, and so do absolutely nothing when people do things like that (which, admittedly, isn't that often).

I have a good chuckle at them, after all they can otu drag my current steed without revving the nuts off their engines

E: Start giving him the coffee beans and then crap yourself and quickly stop when you realise your car is quite conspicuous and parked on the road over night.

Egg him on, make eye contact, rev my engine, nod suggestively to the road ahead and....

When the light goes green, and said chavette roars off in a cloud of clutch smoke, pull away serenly.

look at their heap of crap, look at my dashboard, look back, catch the idiots eye and do an exaggerated roll of my eyes to say, "No, I really do not feel the need to prove that my car is quicker than your 1.2 Nova".

I wish I could say I rise above it but I tend to set off fairly sedately and then blast past when the turbo kicks in.

I'll grow up one day.

Most people don't realise how fast my car is so I more often get reps in mid-range BMWs etc. trying to do the right-lane skip the traffic technique more than laxers in Corsas.

In my 'many' years of driving experience, the only person who has tried to race me was a 20-something female in a Cooper S. Normally I'd ignore it, but she was rather attractive so I made a point of leaving her for dead.

Bloody hell. Did you shoot her or something? Thats a bit excessive don't you think?

Same. Rev it so the whole car rocks bodily on its springs, and then rumble off gently in a different direction.

Mind you, most chavved Imprezas could beat my humble S off the lights, so best not to race really. My car was built for burbling along, not drag racing.
