A recent mini mag featured a car (mk1) with a push bike computer fitted as a speedo. Seems like a really good idea, very cheap and programmable too so that you could get it accurate, not like mine with is 15mph out!

Anyone know if these is legal?

Yes it should be - The law just says you need a way to determine your speed.
Anyway there's nothing different about a bike speedo from a modern digital car speedo really.

I am currently building a kit car which will have to pass the SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) test which is much more detailed than a standard MOT, following which the car will have to undergo an annual mot.

I am planning on fitting a bike speedo which is pretty standard these days for kit cars and is perfectly legal, the legal requirement is that the speedometer gives an accurate reading which the bike speedo's tend to do more accurately than most car speedos
