I had the gross misfortune to catch Ricardo "there's no level I won't stoop to" Hammond on his new 5 o'cock show. He is such an annoying maggot. He delivers every line in that staccato Clarksonesque way and constantly indulges in those "I'm an idiot" looks to camera, presumably to pander to middle aged women who want to cuddle him. Last night he was testing unbreakable plastic in a typically Top Gear way using a pneumatic drill. What a complete cock. Still, they could always make it even worse by throwing in some useless female presenter who talks with her hands. Total utter dross. there is no hope for the world.

Hammond....you're a disgrace. A broadcasting prostitute of the lowest order.

It is indeed dross (imo). Wonder what he's getting paid for it?

Mrs K thinks he's sweet

Anyway, I thought he was OK until I saw the episode where they tested the Weismann against the Tuscan II and Hammond declared that he hates TVR's.

That's him crossed off my list

Every time I see him I ask myself, "How the hell did he get a job as a television presenter?" It must be soul destroying for all the bright young things out there struggling to get into the media.

So what your saying is that in the fickle world of television, he's maximising his income now by playing the the areas that make him popular while he's still a preferred presenter. Sounds like a sensible business idea to me. You might not like the program (so don't watch ) but while he's getting paid I suspect he doesn't care.

Of course, producing a rubbish show now could prevent him getting more work, but he does have Top Gear to fall back on...

He seems to suit Brainiac though. Maybe he should just stick to that, and possibly Top Gear?

I quite like his presentational style, actually...

True. But you still want to take him home and cuddle him, don't you, Emma. Go on, admit it.

he's OK on Top Gear.

I don't watch any of his shite programmes, but then I don't watch much British TV fullstop.

He's got a big old country house, a fleet of cars and bikes and a wife and two kids. I can't say I blame him, he's got to pay for them somehow.

Did I mention I'm top of Mrs K's "respected members" list?

Mind you, she damn near black balled me once.

sorry but I can't agree at all.

I think he's amusing and extremely enthusiastic - which appears genuine - which is a nice change.

Admittedly have only seen last ten mins of one of these new shows, but it was okay. Calling someone a 'broadcasting prostitute' is kinda comedy tho

Sorry Jon. If he was the last man on the planet and the future of the human race depended on us, no!

Awww g'won. Youdoyoudoyoudoyoudoyoudoyoudoyoudoyoudoyoudo.

Actually, I think the phrase you're actually looking for is along the lines of "Mrs M., if we were the last three humans on Earth, I'd be trying to start a family with Baldrick"
