No, almost always bad news. Had stuff stolen, played football with, opened by van driver, etc.

That's how I know them. No worse than Shitty Link, though.

On the bright side, PF do take undelivered parcels to your local post office, which is a damn sight more convenient than 10 miles to the local depot.

I was sitting in my office and 'acknowledged' the Postie through the window as he put my letters through the postbox - he nodded back, one of the letters was a 'you were not in when we tried to deliver' card........

You'll no doubt be delighted to hear that Parcelforce have just been voted UK's Express Parcel Carrier of the year for 2006...

Parcelforce said:
Parcelforce Worldwide has been chosen as the UK's Express Parcel Carrier
2006, for the third year running. The award comes in the wake of continuous
research into standards within this industry sector, conducted on behalf of
the Institute of Transport Management.

The final analysis of all applicants for this accreditation focused on the
low damage and high security assurance on offer and found that Parcelforce
Worldwide surpassed all its competitors in this category.

Announcing the award, Patrick Sheedy, Media and PR Director for the
Institute of Transport Management stated, "This programme was designed to
recognise advances within the UK Distribution sector over the previous 12
months. The decision to present Parcelforce Worldwide with this coveted
accreditation is the result of research, which included the polling of
Institute members who depend on delivery services, and is a true reflection
of the high esteem the company enjoys within the industry. Parcelforce
Worldwide sets the standards for other delivery companies to follow and we
are delighted to include the company on our Roll of Honour as ‘UK Express
Parcels Carrier 2006’."

The best thing about 'Parcel Force' is that they're not a shite as 'Interlink' who have dispensed with human enployees and have a staff consisting entirely of mentally retarded baboons and chimps.

How do you win an award for 2006 on the 6th day of the year?

I must be the only person in the country who is happy with PF, there's loadsa delivery companies round by me and I'd chose PF above all the others. I guess this is down to the depot rather than the business as a whole.

lol, i just reccomended interlink on another thread, amazing how people can get such different service from the same company - they've always been great for us!

Cheers,
Rob.

I presume that it very much depends of the local depot, franchise? Ours is absolutely appalling to the extent of delivering almost 'Benny Hill' type comedy value.

Last time delivery 1 failed because the driver got lost, delivery 2 failed because the driver left the depot without the parcel, delivery 3.......the best......failed because, and I quote "the gearbox has fallen out of the van"

Sometimes...

Recently had a card at work (as they'd tried to deliver at the weekend ) stating that the parcel had been taken to a certain post office (not the most local one ) and stated it would be available there from 9am on the Monday.

So, 10am on Monday I trek to the PO, queue for ½ hour in the Christmas rush to be told at the counter that there's no way a PF parcel would get to the PO before 12.

Returned the next day at 11am, queued again and (luckily for me) the parcel had just arrived in the last 10 minutes.

I wouldn't mind, except why bother going to the effort of writing "9am Monday" when "12pm Tuesday" is more realistic? Beggars belief...

At least the parcel was intact and unmolested

I've never had a problem with them - always been very good. Just after christmas i left a number of bulky items at my folks house which i desperately needed, so my dad arranged for them to be sent down to me at 2.30pm one afternoon, and voila there they were on my doorstep the following day ay 10.30am!

A Christmas parcel my parents mailed from Canada back in late November still hasn't shown up. Luckily they insured it, so can get some sort of trace/reimbursement, but I suspect the folk at Parcel Farce have helped themselves to it's contents. Will probably never be found either.
