I need to find a decent reasonably priced Chinese/Catonese restaurant for tomorrow night (Friday 6th Jan) near the St. Stephens Green area.

Also would need to book a table as well so somewhere that will be available at short notice.

Cheers

I'm sure you might get a better response if you don't refer to our Irish cousins as a 'lot' - bit derogatory if you ask me.

Try the Imperial Chinese Restaurant in Wicklow Street. Was in Dublin with some friends over New Year and had a very good meal there.

There used to be a really top notch one on Dame Street - I can't recall the name unfortunately, but there can't be many there (assuming it is still there).

It was next to (or very close to) the Undeground bar - but I guess that's long gone now [shame].

A search on yahoo.ie might help.

Can't help as I haven't been to a Dublin Chinese Restaurant for decades - however, do a Google Search or similar on "eating out in Dublin" and I'm sure you'll get all the info' you need to know. We did that last year before going to Dublin and there was plenty of information available on-line.

Just looked a bit derogatory. What don't you understand about that?

I understood you fine. I just didn't think it was derogatory and wondered what it was about it that you did? After all lot is just a term for a collective group.

P.S. Sorry I don't know any restaurants in Dublin...

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a big fall,
All the Kings horses and all the Kings men,
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

Can't add anything here so I thought I'd read you all a rhyme .
Don't eat much food from Asia but if I'm around Stephens Green it'd be Wagamammas for food and Sinnots next door for beer.

Hard to know your price range but for ok food:

The Imperial, 13 Wicklow Street;
Good World Restaurant, Georges St (good dim sum)
Wongs, Ranelagh (a bit far from town).

Enjoy.

Being Welsh doesn't mean I know any nice Chinese restaurants in Dublin.

So there you go, I don't

Good World and Imperial are good, but if all else fails you could try Kingsland on Dame Street. Having said all that, I'd prefer to take a trip to the Northside and pay a visit to Kelly & Ping... it's bit off the beaten track, but the food is top notch!
