Bogus intermittent fault on 2003 111S
The LCD started scrolling characters (junk + real) right to left during normal running. Restarted engine and no display. Very helpful service engineer in California (it was at night...) suggested loose battery terminal connection. Checked, tightened, no joy. Service at Chris Neil suggested disconnecting battery and reconnecting some time later. Joy, it worked. Alas, joy was shortlived as the scrolling returned. As did the display. And back again. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and then comes back during driving. Stack reckon easy to repair/send it back. I reckon it is something else. Temperature sender? All the values check OK (even the mileage goes up when the display is not there).
