"Cattle are capable of producing 500 litres of the potent greenhouse gas every day, mostly through belching."

But if we didn't eat cows there wouldn't be so many of them.

They don't eat them in India and they have more cows than anywhere else on the planet.

It is a serious issue

Methane is a far more powerful greenhouse gas than CO2 and cows produce a lot of it.

Then how come, considering cows have been around for so long, is the earth no worse?

Because modern farming means there are vastly more cows now than ever before.

Termites also produce a lot of methane as they digest celulose. There is something like 3/4 of a tonne of termites for every person on the planet.

In the early days of the US there were more buffalo per square mile than cockroaches in a hospital kitchen so global warming must have been rampant, musn't it?

Can't we fit them all with gas canisters and collect it all? We wouldn't need to buy the Russian's gas then.

In which case: All paint-shop booths should be fitted with spray guns powered by farting termites that are fed on the overspray of celulose paint.

Am I a genious or what
