Mobile phone and location help required

I am sure I remember that there was a site on the internet wher you could type in someones mobile telephone no and the site could search for their location.
Does anyone of the Phers have any idea or indeed information on this or did I imagine it.

How can i help? We use this technology on a day to day basis.

It is not possible to locate a friend etc without consent. PM me for any advice but Textanywhere.net are good. As are Childlocate etc, expensive though.

Edited to add i should mention www.mapminder.co.uk without doubt the best in my experience.
