Christ every bloody radio station over Xmas New year was playing this castrated knobs music.

What ever happened to people NOT singing like someone doesn't have there balls in a vice.

If he was in the army - you can bet he got that voice from being in the shower to much.

Just Say No To James Blunt..............

Thing with James Blunt is, I actually didn't mind him when I first heard his songs. When I heard him on the radio I thought he was trying to be another Coldplay clone, derivative, but inoffensive.

But then I saw him on TV, and I've wanted to belt him ever since. He sounds like a yelping puppy, he appears to know about two chords on that guitar he barely strums, and WTF is the 'You're Beautiful' video about? Gormlessly staring into the camera whilst he strips off in the middle of a blizzard, all because 'you're beautiful'? Great James, now put your clothes back on and shut up.

but it's time to face the truth...
i will never be with you

it's actually got 4 chords - though that's still one more than some pop rubbish out there.
KT Tungstal really showed him up on the Jools Holland NYE show, IMHO...

Whenever I see one of his videos, it looks like he's doing a number 2.

I guess he's trying to look 'racked with unrequited love', but he ends up looking like he's "dropping the kids off at the pool"

I thought the album was quite good - 'goodbye my lover' is a top tune, as are quite a few others on there. OK so he sings like a bee-gee but is that on its own a bad thing?

Agreed. And whoever did the live mixing for Goldfrapp needs to be beaten with shoes.

Mind you, she can't bloody sing live.

Wow - so, let me get this right, there's some music out there which you DON'T like?!

I quite liked his album - and in fact it's in my car at the moment. Strange though, I've not posted any threads saying "I think Eminem is crap boy I hate him raaaaaaaaaaa".

The mistake you're making is listening to the radio.

There are these wonderful inventions, nowadays, known as CDs, which is short for compact disc. They are loaded with music, often of one particular artist, which will allow you to avoid turgid dogshit like James Blunt, Jamie Cullum or Katie Mellua.

There are other types of CDs, called compilations, which have music from different artists. It is therefore possible for a song by James Blunt to have accidentally been placed on one of these CDs. In order to avoid being subjected to one of the aforementioned artists, I suggest you only buy compilations CDs that contain kick drum lead tracks above 150bpm.

Enjoy.

He's right about Melua. I bought her album, Piece By Piece, for my mother as she said that she likes it. I have rarely heard such a load of pretentious, self-indulgent, whiny Norah Jones-lite (which is impressive, given that Norah Jones herself is lite of just about everything else) rubbish.

Lyrics such as the following to set your teeth on edge (paraphrased):

"There are nine million bicycles in Beijing, that's a fact"

"You make me feel so good, like I'm halfway up the Hindu Kush".

Message to Katie - please, please shut up, you appalling, gap-year inspired/pandering, boring crooner. You're damned fit. Just stop the songwriting, please - for the love of God.

Melua, Blunt, Tunstall and every other drippy vocalist in soft focus - all derivative shit.

Here endeth the lesson.
