Is that the one where you had to press down or left or whatever at the right time to win? Good graphics for the time eh? Bit annoying mind...

Yes, but it was just hand drawn animation stored on a laser disc, wher each episode or level had a couple of endings that you could switch between by pressing a certain button at the right time - crap really.

Bomber where did you get it from .
I loved that game as a kid. The graphics were amazing in its day and way ahead of anything during its day.

If you're not playing it off an original laserdisc, I'm not sure I'd bother to be honest. Although now you have me hankering after a laserdisc player.

It most certainly was, way, way ahead.
At the time of the game coming out (i mean arcade machine) i was working for a company that used to deliver pool tables, snooker tables, fruit machines, arcade machines to pubs and clubs etc and can remember when we had Dragons lair delivered to us about 2 weeks before they were put in pubs etc basically because of the fact we (the people installing them) had to know how to play the game to be able to show the landlord of the pub etc and so we spent a few late nights in the factory with it set up trying to work it out (didn't succeed) but had some fun trying.
Glyn.

Ebay, £6 delivered it will play on any DVD as the controls are so basic - up, down, left, right, sword. It is a genuine game with documentaries on the making and release of the original coin-op!

I have it. It was by Don Bluth IIRC. He also did Space Ace - which is similar.

The laser disc games were incredible in the early 80's - simply because they looked so far in advance of the other arcade machines.

There were others - Astron Belt, FireFox, Hyperbiker etc.

Unfortunately they were unreliable, so didn't fair well with arcade operators. I know a couple of guys who have some original machines - I would like one for my games room.

Anyone got a screenshot?

I'm genuinely interested to see what 'cutting edge' graphics were like in those days...

Cheers,
Al.
