I travelled into work this morning using the major ring roads etc around Norwich. At even the biggest and busiest areas the roads were covered in black ice. Was there a hint of grit out - NO!!!

Luckily (?) I managed fall on my @r$e before I'd even got 10 steps away from my back gate so I knew it was slippy!

Ive seen a postman getting scooped up into an ambulance having come off his bike badly, a police dog section Hi-Lux careered across a dual section of ring road and a BMW in a ditch on the roundabout near work.

I know they cant be everywhere all the time - but the weather reports have all been pretty accurate for the past couple of days round here, so where the f:censored were the council lorries last night!?

Its going to be a 'bumper' time for insurance claims round here today! sorry thats awful.

Well, That's Norfolk For you. The gritters were probably told that there was a Thaw on the way so the bosses said "save the Money & stay at home". WRONG !!!!!
Nor seen that many gritters out over the Christmas period, Except at Ketteringham where the local depot is.

scared but happy

Being on a bus route here in Suffolk we had two gritters go past. One of them seems to be based on a Toyota style of pickup.
But I nearly got stuck in the supermarket as the DSC etc kept cutting in and the car just refused to move.

Yeah, quite obviously icey where it looked like it was clear. Watching (bloody stupid) people driving about like it was a summer's day made me think a disaster was waiting to happen.

Now get back to work!

Oi, hamster. Get back in ya pitt ya lazy git!

You would have loved the antics near work this morning - police vehicles, BMW in ditch behind the Hotel on the roundabout, yet there was still an impatient woman in a Ka/Fiesta overtaking me down the dual carraigeway bit. She must have filled her tights when the wheels werent doing what she told them...funny that - dozy cow.

Hope you had a good night - see in the new year!

I don't know what the conditions were in Norwich, but isn't there a thing where if the temperature goes below a certain level, the salt/grit doesn't make a difference any more?

Thaw in Worcestershire followed by RAIN! Yay! Quite a lot of rain too!

Now, if only I'd had more success finding somewhere convenient to get the MoT done
