Hi all, the water pump on my 4.6 HSE Range Rover has packed in so am in the middle of changing it, well at t he start really as I can not get the sodding fan off!!!!
There is what looks like a 36mm or bigger nut holding the fan assembly on to the water pump but I can not seem to get it un-done. Does anybody have any experience of this that they would like to share with me?????

many thanks
Richard

most viscous fans are left hand thread so if you have no spanner hit the nut on its edge with a chisel, but as if you were trying to tighten it.
they come straight off

Accident is correct.
Left hand threaded. Possible to buy a spanner made specifically for the job, or possibly borrow it.
Job will be so much easier.
Have fun!
