I've been waiting 2 years to get round to painting the entire flat. Was about to pay silly money to get a painter in but my parents have just retired, so have managed to talk them into coming down to help do it! Pensioners rates!!

I intend to put a 2nd coat of white emulsion on the garage walls this afternoon, then will re-paint the concrete floor in grey tomorrow. Might put a false plaster ceiling in and emulsion that too, ready for when BG comes home.

In fact, going to get off my lard and away from this PC and do it now.

TTFN.

Yup, painting... what a great way to spend the xmas break!

Giving our main bedroom a well deserved lick of fresh paint. In fact it is the last room undecorated since we moved in three years ago. It is very satisfying to see the last remnants of the awful old colours disappearing for good.

Normally I would agree, tonight's labours involve a significant colour change, so the basecoat shouldn't tax my peepers too much.

OK I can see you are a devil for the detail Mr Bliarout.

I am sure that the ceilings are currently non-white. You will have to take my word for that.
I would like them white.
Ergo I am quite happy, well not exactly happy, but resigned to painting the first coat in artificial light.

The current colour (not guilty yer honour) is a vile dijon mustard type colour. How the devil we have managed to live this long in the place without nuking that colour in particular I really don't know. Perhaps because some of the other rooms were even more hideous, in particular one orange room. I still have spots before my eyes, it wasn't so much orange as .........

ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As an aside, are people really so dumb when buying houses that they can't see through the current owner's decorations and furniture to see the potential of a place when sorted.

Christ I sound like Sarah Beeney.

Egyptian cotton bed linen - very luxurious. It feels like heaven slipping between the sheets...
