AP Racing discs

I have managed to kill my front discs. Can anyody tell me the AP part number and or measurements

320mm diameter x 30mm thick, if memory serves! I have the A.P. paperwork in the workshop, i'll check later to see if i've got the part numbers!

Had a look through AP's web site and they don't list a 320x30 disc so I hope it is not special order!

The spec sheet that came with my AP brakes is marked CP5200-1033 ULTIMA FRONT (or maybe LP5200-1033 ULTIMA FRONT - its a photocopied sheet and hard to read), but I think this is for the complete kit including calipers, mounts, and bolts. The discs are handed, and both have a part ref no. of 2 on my sheet which I suspect won't be much help. I can't see anything on my sheet listing the diam of the discs although it shows 30mm when new with minimum width of 29mm when worn. Ultima site lists them as '12.7" vented disc brake and callipers comprising X drilled 320mm x 30mm AP Racing curved vane vented discs'.

I think your right on that, the disc size comes with the Ultima brake kit!
I've used 325mm and 330mm discs with suitable spacers for the caliper.

Thanks again. I had a look through Stig's site and found a picture of the AP box with a number on it. Unfortunatly it is the CP5200-1033 number. Can't find any match on the AP web site so I have sent them an e-mail.

CP5200 are the calipers.

If memory serves correctly, they are 320mmx30mm curve vane discs. The factory should sell you some replacement discs but this is a fairly common disc size that you should not be too hard to find. Just make sure it has the same number of mounting holes.

i live quite close to AP in coventry, so i popped in at the start of the build to see if i could get the brake system any cheaper. everything was going well until the guy i was talking to started to sort out the discs. he then told me they were Ultima only parts. i'd be interested hear if you get any further with AP than i did.

I went through the exact same thing with AP. Made me so mad that I went with a higher quality Brembo solution instead. The calipers and discs are standard off the shelf items, but the brackets and hats are custom made just for Ultima by AP. So AP pushes their engineered kits. Ultima should be able to get just the discs, but I think the discs themselves should be a standard off the shelf item. Don't know if you'll get that answer from AP however.

so far no one has asked this very obvious question!

_WHAT_ were you doing that you managed to kill your brakes?

Please enlighten us all so we can hopefully manage to avoid a similar costly event!!!!

Well 17K miles and around 50 stops from 165-175 to 35mph at bruntingthorpe. I also use a more aggresive pad that eats discs but also has great bite from cold and then gets better!
