Why? why why why why why??????????

Kids are collecting these things like trophies for goodness sake. Surely some sort of punishment would be better.
Johnny scratches up 30 cars and scares 10 old ladies and mugs 5 kids so they tell him he can't go into that estate for a period of 2 years or whatever........DERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At best these things are a pretence to law and order!

Indeed, poor Johny is very misunderstood and should be nurtured and loved to make him a better and fullsome human being.... (too late for that I fear)

... Oh and his parents should pay for every scrap of damage and pay an equal amount in compensation. Oh and lock them up - they've brought a child into the world and raised it so that its actions will always bring it into conflict with society. It is abuse and should be treated as such.

If a minor committs an offense then their legal guardian should be held accountable.

A crime is a crime is a crime. Someone is ALWAYS RESPONSIBLE.

Yep , the unrully chavs are collecting them like badges of honour.Fine the parents I would say, and jail the buggers for more serious offences, I'll happily pay extra tax to keep them in.

a passion for wearing skimpy pants was linked to an Asbo.
In East Kilbride a 27-year-old lacking the decorum expected of her by neighbours was banned from answering the front door in her underwear.

The rules of sunbathing are not understood by everyone

The woman, who argued that she had merely done the gardening in an Ann Summers bikini one hot day, also faced the threat of jail if seen in the yard or at her windows in just knickers and a bra.

What do you think, was she a fat minger or a georgeous blond with a fit body

It depends on the reaction in your trousers, surely a good gauging indicator.

If most of the parents weren't scum themselves, and instilled values into the wee kids, then we wouldn't be in any sort of situation like this.

A lower standard of proof is needed to obtain an ASBO and if the terms of it are breached they can be sent to jail.

It is not a joke but has its place in the criminal justice system for dealing with low level public disorder offences.

asbos are a problem to be honest. its like the final warning before it really gets serious, and in some cases it does the trick. the problem is that even if the asbo is broken - it doesn't get any serious. surely if you get warned - "breach the asbo and you go to jail" it means just that? but because the courts are so lenient - nothing happens time and time again.

That is the problem with all sentencing not just with those who breach ABSO's.

Pack the judges off to the old people's home and get some people in who understand modern life and what these Chav scum need

On one hand, any mention of an ASBO will put high profile employers off the applicant, on the other hand, any person with an ASBO is highly unlikely to apply for a high profile job, excluding the government of course.
