Ipod my 6series
Discussion
Recently purchased a 645 cab, and I want to link the ipod up to it. I have searched and searched and cant find anything about being able to link my ipod to the car. Is it possible without having to go down the Itrip route. I find it incredible that a company like BMW hasnt jumped up to the possibility of using such a device with their cars.
Could be an aftermarket jobbie. When will they learn?

BMW sell a special cable that connects to the dock on the iPod, as do dension.

As far as I know only the dension shows the mp3 information on the screen.
I also know that the new M5 can play mp3 cds once it has a software update, presumably that update may also be avaliable for the 6 series?

We have done a few 6 series iPod installations - email me through profile if you want some more info:
Basically, the best solution is a Dension ice>link FM.

northernboy - The ICE>Link FM isn;t illegal - It doesn't transmit as it is hard wired into the aerial socket of the head unit and 'disconnects' the main aerial when the iPod is docked (hence why it works so well).
If a hard wired one was available for the 6 series, don't you think I'd be advising him to use one?
