Oh dear - leaking

Diff failed 2 weeks ago so I've had the gearbox and clutch replaced. A few days after I noticed a tiny bit of oil on the road but was not sure if it was my car.
Now that I've driven to Plymouth for Xmas (and parked on my Father's white driveway) I can see that it is leaking about 2 teaspoons per 24hrs. Gulp!
Does the gearbox take oil from the sump or what? I ask because I can keep topping the engine oil up but don't know how to get at the gearbox - and I need to drive back to London in a few days.

No the transmission has it's own oil. From a Haynes Mondeo manual I have I quote -
'The transmission does not have a dipstick. To check the oil level, raise the vehicle and support it securely on axle stands making sure the vehicle is level. On the lower front side of the transmission housing you will see the filler/level plug. Unscrew and remove it. If the lubricant level is correct the oil should be up to the lower edge of the hole.
If the transmission needs more lubricant (if the oil is not up to the hole) use a syringe or plastic bottle and tube to add more. Stop filling the transmission when lubricant begins to run out of the hole. Refit the filler level plug and tighten to the specified torque wrench setting.'
A few points here - pretty pointless getting the car in the air as the undertray will block your view - just raise the rear clam and look at the gearbox (big metal casing on passenger side if you didn't know !)
By my reasoning the filler/ level plug will be on the front of the box - i.e. towards the front of the car behind the passenger - more difficult to get at / see.
The filler / level plug will probably be a hexagonal bolt approx 17 / 19 mm across the flats or have an allen key cutout.
The torque setting for the plug is 35 Nm or 26 lb ft or if have haven't got a torque wrench handy then only about a third of the pressure you would put on your wheel bolts when doing them up.
I don't know much about the g/box in our cars so can't tell you if it's got an overflow and its been overfilled on unlevel ground or something similar - can you see where it is leaking from?

Also if you do get as far as refilling then most g/box oil cans are made of plastic with a pull-out extender tube to get into awkward places anyway so don't worry greatly about syringes etc....!
Gearbox Oil recommended in the Noble Owners Manual (in case you haven't got yours with you) is ' Shell Spirax ASX 75w90 - 1.5 litres' although any good 75w90 from Halfords or similar will be OK.

]By the way - it looks like the engine oil had simply been overfilled. It was parked on a slope. Once I moved it to the flat, it stopped leaking. Now it no longer leaks on the slope either.
I'm still popping it into the garage for a check, though. Better safe than soprry.
