Merry Christmas everyone - some sense at last is the best present

Tory plan against 'PC silliness'

The Conservative Party are considering adopting a tactic from their New Zealand counterparts and appointing a "political correctness eradicator".

Tory MP Philip Davies, who was elected this year, said he wanted to wage a campaign against "this silliness."

He cited the example of a Somerset museum which took BC (Before Christ) off labels to avoid "offence".

He is considering inviting a delegation from New Zealand's right- wing National Party, who appointed a PC eradicator.

'Nonsense'

Mr Davies, MP for Shipley in West Yorkshire, told the BBC "Somebody decided that BC - Before Christ - was going to be offensive to other religions, so they changed BC to BP, which was Before the Present, I think it stood for.

"Examples like this happen all the time and we'd like to try and make people aware of it so they can fight back and say to people, we've had enough of this nonsense."

The National Party recently contested New Zealand's general election on a platform which included a fighting a proposed ban on smacking and public smoking, and repealing some welfare benefits and special voting rights for indigenous Maori.

Mr Davies said he believed British political correctness was only a passing fad.

"There will come a point, and I think we're very near that point now, where the silent majority, the balk of decent people say I've had enough of this and we're going to start rolling back the tide and I want to play my part in rolling back that tide," he said.

The National Party closed the gap markedly in New Zealand's election in September although Labour's Helen Clark held on to power by forming a coalition with smaller parties.

it's about time we say some sense!

We see wave after wave of this total bollox, for fear of causing offence. And does anybody ever complain about being offended? Well maybe, but most of the time it's some shiny-trousered halfwit who's never had a real job, looking for inadvertent "offence" and then trying to eradicate it. Half of the time their effort to eradicate offence cause more offence that the original error did.

My company has bought 40 pcs from Dell over the last 2 years, and I've bought a desktop and a notebook personally, just recently. I don't have a "happy holidays" eflyer from them (yet) but I can tell you that if I do get one, they'll be getting a flea in the ear... I would be very offended if they did not acknowledge the reason for this "holiday" - it's CHRISTmas! Yes it's a religious festival, the same as all the others that go on all over the world, without apparent offence.

Political correctness my arse...

Great idea by the Tories, let's hope it turns into some concrete action.

Why the hell are they releasing details of it now though?

Yeah, that'll win the election.

They still don't get it, do they?

It's the economy, stupid.

And then an assortment of education, law and order, health and transport, not necessarily in that order. It's not like the Government is an especially "hard target" on any of these issues.

But a "PC eradicator"? If I were a Conservative Party member, I'd be asking for my membership fee back.

Good, that is nice to hear.

When I hear the words "Our party has decided that this left wing 'tax the rich to pay for the lazy' has got to stop, we're introducing a chav birth-tax and giro related sterilisation, well, you want the dole, you're going to be sterilised because next you'll want a council house, we're only protecting those who after all PAY FOR ALL OF US, chain gangs for people on the dole, a proper test for people on disability benefit, if you can waddle out of your car to get your giro, you can well work! I want a country where people can shoot criminals, ban speed cameras, have the big stick of the law pointed at criminals, not the motorist, stop spending money on unnecessary shit like the US of E, bloody speed bumps and beaurocratic bollox, I want cheaper fuel for myself and will be taxing cyclists, we're going to shoot vegans because they're a waste of space and lock the animal activists up with the psychos, we're going to convert the Isle of Man into a massive Alcatraz and that's where we'll put our prisoners. Then for sport and a £500 entry fee, the public can shoot them with a choice of weapons. Grenades, chainsaws and high powered rifles. No, it, The Isle of Wight, Isle of Man is too small for proper sport, and then we're going to invade Brussles! Amen.

Edit:- And also we are going to get people who have been diagnosed with obesity to pedal it off on exercise bikes hooked up to alternators, transformers and the national grid. Now that's a alternative energy idea which is viable, I reckon it would take a few stone of fat for the bike to "pay for itself" in energy terms. My party would also like to get a sensible proportion of people into university, not educating people beyond their intelligence. That would also get rid of half the weirdy beardies who are in a position to spout bollox from their silly status (see that comment from 'The Professor of Kite Flying' at Loughborough regarding 'pay as you go driving' ridiculous !) it, perhaps I could be their chief ideas man.... I've cooked this lot up in about 5 mins, think of what strategies I could think of.....Civil Service might take a bit of sorting though.

With towering intellects like The Rt Hon Mr Davies on the case, NuLabor must be quaking in their green wellies.

They should appoint a PC "Terminator" while theyre at it.

Any stupid council officials banning pigs for instance, or the union jack, or the St Georges Cross should be executed without trial for disloyalty to the country.
Watch the PC numptys running for cover as the bullets and flames fly!....

I cant imagine why a commercial company might make such a decision.
www.spitfireale.co.uk/advertising/ads2000.htm

"GERMAN TOURISTS SHOOT DOWN SPITFIRE AD CAMPAIGN

Adverts from Shepherd Neame - Spitfire Premium Ale.

London Underground has ordered the removal of advertising for Spitfire Premium Ale, Britain's fastest-growing traditional beer, after alleging that it was upsetting German tourists.

The tubecards, the latest £250,000 phase of the award-winning "Bottle of Britain" campaign, feature copylines such as "Have The Sunbeds, We're Going To The Bar", "Votz Zo Funny About Zeez Posters", and "Rear Gunners Drink Lager Shandy".

Posters from Spitfire campaigns in 1998 and 1999 included copylines such as "Downed All Over Kent, Just Like The Luftwaffe", and "No Fokker Comes Close"."
