Best practical joke you've pulled?
Discussion
Any good ones?
For me it's one I did about ten years ago. A mate of mine was having a stag doo. Bizarrely, it was starting with a game of water polo at a local pool he'd hired. Myself and a co-conspirator arrived deliberately late and nicked ALL their clothes (about 20 people). We then weighed in my car a safe distance. About an hour later there was lots of commotion and arguing as they emerged in their trunks onto the cold pavement! We took the clothes to one of their houses, about a mile away, and left a clue for them to decipher. So they had to find them in the end.
The best bit was though, the janitor gave them access to the clothes in the lost property - so some of them were wearing women and children's clothes because it was a very cold night. Oh how we laughed!!

Mate at work won a two week holiday some place hot on Virgin radio. He was meant to be hard at work and didn't think anyone would hear him on the air winning. I'm sat in my car and can't believe it's him on the radio and that the jammy bugger wins this holiday. So I get back and tell the other guys at work that he's won this. We all think this can't pass without some kinda piss take and so we ( well me ) call him at work and pretend that I'm from Virgin Radios PR department.
I say congrats and make some small talk and then ask if he happens to have any recent criminal record. Now said friend was recently in trouble for something silly and did get done. Our mate goes all silent and then admits that he has a record. So I says thats a real shame because his wining destination doesn't let in people with recent convictions. Matey is getting pretty mad and I can hear him kicking crap out of the office furniture . I then say calm down as what we'll do is simply swap his destination with 'our' other winning destionation for 'our' next weeks competition. He's all happy now and I say it's no problem, we'll get the tickets for 2 weeks at Skegness Butlins in the post.
You really had to be there to hear the way he shouted " SKEGNESS ! " at the top of his voice. I then said calmly " Mark, you sucker !" while everyone in the office is laughing and put the phone down .It took him a couple of hours to go into the telephone automatic recording system and work out who it was.

One that a Finnish friend told me about ( they were in on it )
Its typical on a stag weekend to play a joke on the groom .... so at the start of the wknd the groom was given a false beard to wear for the whole weekend - the "joke" was he had to keep it on all the time , while eating , sleeping etc.
As the wknd progressed , the Groom was feeling quite happy as the joke hadn't been too embarrassing for him. At the end of the wknd the group retired to a sauna ... when the groom noticed that none of his mates had any pubic hair
-
and quickly worked out where his "beard" had come from !

Friend of mine lives in a block of flats and is proud that he had managed to escape for some time buying a TV Licence. We got friendly with a guy in a pub and he became a friend who was also a bit of a joker and forever doing impressions. One day we managed to pursuede him to call our mate up on his mobile to tell him that the Licencing authorities have been keeping an eye on his address for some time and noticed he hadnt purchased a TV Licence for some time and the matter is being investigated, he would shortly receive a notice to pay the sum owed since he had lived there..... he hung up on him
We managed to keep it quiet for a few days, he started worrying about it and we eventually got it out of him that something was bothering him, he started saving some money up to pay for his fine he was going to receive
His face was a picture after we eventually told him it was a wind up, and he had bought a TV Licence that day

At work today, one of the chaps in the department spend half the day filling in dates and deadlines into a diary he was sent as a freebie from a supplier. Not knowing we got there first, gutted it and replaced it with the pages from last years model! He was wondering why some of the deadlines fell on Sundays.
He might notice in a couple of weeks!!
Another chap recently decided to grow chillis in the office, which we swapped with cress. He was so pleased how quick it shot up, but is now starting to wonder why things aren't progressing too far.
Last week another chap had a particularly large box containing some light weight ducts arrive, to be driven to the other site (15 minutes away). He returned, confused, wondering why there were no ducts in the box, went to see the boss, to find the ducts were sat lined up in her office!!

Did one today actually. A colleague at work printed out some A4 versions of a particularly unflattering picture of me from our Christmas party and put them up around the office with attached humourous comments while I was at lunch. So after she had left for the day, I gift wrapped everything on her desk - PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse, phone, pens, files, the works. OK, possibly not the most outlandish practical joke ever devised, but it made me laugh.
Looking forward to an abusive text message tomorrow morning (I'm not back in work until the new year now).
Looking forward to an abusive text message tomorrow morning (I'm not back in work until the new year now).

I work for a mobile phone company and had access to to an internet text message service long before the public versions started popping up. Great thing about it was the received number from the texts would be a strange service centre number, not anything that looked like a real phone number. Good for covert texting then.
As a joke I started sending texts to a mate, using information I knew about him, but made it as obvious as I could it was just some stupid wind-up, as I thought it would be funny and he'd spot the joke straight away.
So about once a day, I sent a text saying something along the lines of:
"Congratulations, as a valued reader of Performance Ford magazine , you have won a years supply of broccoli"
I'd just substitute the middle bit for something else I knew about him, so he got the same from NTL, his bank, a couple of other magazines he reads, the company he bought his hifi gear off, his credit card company etc...
I didn't ring his while I was doing this, as I didn't want to give the game away, but after a couple of weeks of doing this I was talking to my brother who also knows my mate well and asked if my mate had got his broccoli yet. My brother went quiet.
"Oh shit, have you been sending those texts then?", he asked.
Turned out my mate had thought someone had hacked his computer, had been watching him and gathering information on him, like the CIA or MI5 or the like. He'd actually become so paranoid he'd cancelled his credit card and all his magazine subscriptions, changed his bank, had his phone and internet connection cut off and was actually really shitting himself.
I had hoped the "years supply of broccoli" was stupid enough to make it obvious it was a prank, but damn I felt bad about what had happened...

One friend of mine back at school had a particular crush on a girl who, although attractive, was a little lacking in the chest department. This was well known and a little bit of a sore point for said friend and we always had a bit of a dig at him, saying she'd be alright if only she had implants and stuff along that line.
Anyway, one day I had a fair bit of modelling clay left over from a project I was working on. It would only have been thrown out so being the naughty practical joker than I can be sometimes I made a pair of sizeable breasts out of the clay. I then made up some packaging and even a little advertising brochure on the computer and printed it out. I can't remember exactly what it said as it was a long time ago but basically it was some spiel about girlfriends with small breasts and you can use these implants etc etc, basically it was designed to subtley touch a nerve or two
.
So I stuck this in the post and sent it anonymously to said friend/victim. A few days passed and I forgot all about it, then I get a really worried panicking phone call from another friend who was also guilty of teasing the victim. Once I got him to calm down it transpired that the victim had received said package, wrongly guessed that it was my other friend and got his dad to pretend to be a policeman and call up my other friend to give him a bollocking off. Something along the lines of transporting dangerous goods/drugs etc etc something like that and I think he was told he would have to go down the station for an interrogation or something like that. Either way it worked a treat as my other friend was absolutly soiling himself with worry, especailly as he had no idea what it was all about!
I eventually spilled the story and reveal that I was the evil genius behind the whole plot, I managed to evade punishment and the story entered into the legend books amongst friends. I eventually teamed up with my other friend to help plan a little revenge on the victim as well, but that's another story for another time

It used to be possible to open car bonnets from outside...
It used to be possible to buy fireworks called car bombs......
The bomb had two wires leading from it. The idea was to remove two plug leads, attach the bomb wires to the spark plugs and replace the plug leads, then close the bonnet and hide.....
The bomb would ignite when the igition was switched.....
Long, loud screech and a cloud of smoke that could hide a building.....
Fun.......
One young lady's voice was heard emerging from the fog....I think it's my starter motor.......

All very minor stuff.
I once woke up my brother on a dark morning and told him he'd be late for work. He groggily got ready and then twigged it was only 3am
Once at school, I took a packet of fruit pastiles and melted the sugar off them in hot water. I rolled them in salt and put them back in the packet. Next day, I handed them out in class. Nobody could spit them out as the teacher would have seen and then punished them!
I once nicked my mates number plates. I had to come clean the next day when he couldn't go to work.

Not the best, but gave us a good laugh....
When with some British & Dutch buddies having a weekend in ‘Dam I got the opportunity to play with a friend’s mobile phone and set the language to Dutch. When he noticed and complained, I said that it must be some automatic roaming function that set the phone to the local language. Over the weekend we then proceeded to send him SMSs in Dutch, telling him that we were sending them in English and that they were being automatically translated. He’s in IT FFS, but swallowed it hook, line and sinker.
It was only when he’d been back in the UK a week waiting for his phone to automatically switch back to English that he started to have doubts and visited our Dutch friend to get the language set correctly. I would call him gullible, but that’s pointless now that they’ve taken it out of the dictionary....

It beggars belief that you've avoided prison for so long!!!!!!!
Lots and lots...
Dog poo under the car door handles
hole punch pieces in air conditioning vents in the summer... as soon as the key is turned the interior is swamped! You can guarantee they left the ac on full blast in the summer!
Swiped somebody's lead running from the pc to their printer... see them fuming on hold to the IT department for 20 mins!
Blu-tacking phone receivers down then calling.
Emails that threaten of job losses within branches etc... with an official sounding link to click for more information. Just a word doc with the word 'Sucker' written across it...
Loads of small stuff can be just as funny
Amazed I ever find time to work!

The other day actually, at work - The Hits (some crap MTV spin-off), was showing Mariah Carey - Live
on our showcase 50" JVC 3LCD home cinema system with its surround sound in show-off mode...
...Except for the fact that I'd switched the surround sound receiver to digital radio, put on Planet Rock, which happened to be in the midst of a Iron Maiden marathon, and took the batteries out of all the remote controls.
The look on pensioner's faces as they go about their Christmas shopping seeing Mariah Carey appearing to be singing Run To The Hills with an all-child choir as backing singers is priceless, as is passers-by trying to turn it down and change the channel.

We used to have a particularly dim Scouse secretary. I used to do a particularly good Sean Connery impression.
So I put the two together and called the office from our service manager's mobile (in the days when few people had them) claiming to be SC himself, asking to speak to the boss (who was out) with a view to a round of golf that afternoon as he (SC) was 'just passing'.
She took it all in, but we thought she was merely playing along.
Then the boss came back in and you had to be there... picture some screeching Scouser chasing him down a corridor shouting "Mike, Mike, Sean Connery's been on this morning and has left his number for you to call him about that round of golf you promised him - he says this time he's going to thrash you!"

Once whilst in halls at uni I got very drunk and my flat mates decided it would be a good wheeze to remove all of the furniture and my possessions from my room, now I was too drunk to move but not to register what was going on (which the whole joke was kind of reliant on).
The next morning despite my hangover I had the presence of mind to wake up all my mates telling them all my stuff had been stolen and I had called the porters who had called the police. They all shit themselves !
