He firmly believed in what he was doing, wouldnt hurt a fly and was very positive, nothing phased him and he just kept right on going.
People didnt have to follow him, but he tried to show them a good way of life and when things needed proving and miracles were required he delivered, yet they still "hung him out to dry"
Nothing much has changed in this life then.

Is the bible just a manual for life?

I've often wondered.

As he was a carpenter.

Do you think he appreciated the craftmanship that went into the nails and cross as he was hanging around with nothing to do?

Have you ever seen Dennis Potter's play "Son of Man". Jesus goes up to the top of Mount Calvry to survey the various crosses already in place there. He raps one cross with his knuckles and says, "Nice bit of work that".

Its said that in his final "death throes" he called Peter over and started to whisper down to him,and as peter sobbed at the bottom of his cross,Jesus said "Hey Peter i can see your house from here"

I guess the most valuable attribute "The Lord" gave us is humour.

Ever thought he was a fairly radical rabbi, who was upset with the corruption and power politics in the religion....

MAybe said something along the lines of we ARE ALL god's children (ie all equally importatnt) next thing we know, it is spun as he says he is god's son, by those in power who don't like this idea, that they are not important, then gets executed,

and a major world religion gets started....

That's how it would happen now...

Personally, I'm not overly religious... I can see why people follow a certain faith etc. and I don't really hold anything against that. But I have to side with you here, your probably right!

Yep, there probably was a rather nice chap called jesus, and yep, I'm sure he inspired a lot of people.

But things like the miracles? Come on, the only source of information is 2000 years old! feeding of the 5000? Fishes and loaves?

Is it not more likely that this bloke jesus simply started sharing what he had and inspired others to do the same?

Controversial maybe, but thats what I reckon

Jesus walked on water.

But David Coperfield walked through the great wall of China.

Perhaps Coperfield is the son of god...

You’ve got to hand it to the guy; his actions spawned a religion in his own name that has lasted 2000 years.
