I've seen it before - it's stunning isn't it!

Mad spectators though!

It's fantastic. Think a lot of that footage is in "Too Fast to Race" I've got the 309 T16 pikes peak run (Climb dance) on my PC at home somewhere, and that's just mad. I want a group B car......without the lag, heavy steering, and expense of course.

That's fantastic! I always loved the quattro when Group B was about; the warbling 5 cylinder motor coupled with the chirping turbo wastegate sounded brilliant and the ultimate S1 version used to fly the Finnish yumps with so much grace, landing on it's rear wheels like a plane. Great stuff, thanks for posting it up, Martin.

remember reading a great article in Evo about the old group B's. One of the mechanics mentioned that after a stage they found a spectators thumb in the Radiator of the Audi

Cheers

I'd love one, but realistically the depreciation is not good. I've costed the GTR640, or 720 at around £70k with all the bits I want on it, + build time etc. then it will be worth about £50k when built, if you could sell it. the best option would be to buy a completed car, but that takes all the fun out of it. I really don't know what I'd replace the M400 with. My mind changes daily, from a 500BHP EVO or Escort Cossie, to a Skyline or 911 GT2, or a mint Renault 5 Turbo2. I then have this mad idea about building a 4wd hot hatch with a cossie or EVo lump in the boot. Or turbo charging a V6 Clio.......
