Uh he's just playing a malmsteen track?

IMo very widdly and technicaly proficient but way short of either imagination (the origonal) or feeling, when he gets his own style and actualy makes up his own work then maybe..

Theres 1000's of would be guitar gods who (did?) copy YJM, sadly I never managed that level of technical ability...

Yes I can hear Bach and Paganini being thanked.

But which track is it?

This kiddy's not too bad (at least he's better than I'd manage) but Malmsteen could play better with one arm tied behind his back....

Thats why i play bass - no chords, complicated solos, just one note at once.

It's Jimi, not Jimmy!

Jimmy is just a chap found propping up the bar at ya local!

And it's gonna take a hell of alot more than technical proficiency to be the next Hendrix! Hendrix had that certain unquantifiable something that so few performers are blessed with.

Well, I think that was the point - although the guy looks more like a "Jackie" as in Jackie Chan. So perhaps he should be billed as the new "Jackie Hendix and The Near Experience" ?

i don't think he's learnt the concept of space, or tension and resolve come to think of it. Less is more and all that. But he has time, what is he? Like, 12?

And one without much of the insane sweep picking which is what Malmsteen is famed for at that. Still, he's better than me so mustn't grumble...

Um, don't want to sound sour grapes but it looks like he's just miming to the track to me. Look closely when he plays some high bends, he doesn't quite reach the note in time...

Cynthia Plaster Caster: Art with staying power
She made her name memorializing the most prized equipment of famed rockers like Hendrix. Three decades later the work's still hard, but satisfying.

July 12, 2000 | NEW YORK -- Cynthia Plaster Caster became famous in the 1960s for making plaster casts of rock stars' penises, and she's honest about what inspired her. Her work is not a commentary on the sexual revolution, she says, nor a statement about the nature of celebrity. She doesn't glorify what she -- and her artwork -- is all about. She's just a woman with a sly sense of humor and a passion for rock 'n' roll -- and men.

Back in 1966, when she was a 19-year-old art college student (and frustrated virgin) in Chicago, her professor gave Cynthia a weekend assignment to make a plaster cast of "something solid." She and one of her aspiring groupie friends knew what they had to do next. Cynthia didn't succeed in casting anyone that weekend, but her plaster casting supplies got her introduced to Paul Revere and the Raiders. (She succeeded on another level, however, when she lost her virginity that weekend to lead singer Mark Lindsay.) She was hooked: Handing out her "Plaster Caster" calling cards was enough to set her ahead of the groupie pack.

After experimenting with different casting materials including wax, clay and aluminum foil, she perfected her technique with dental alginates. Soon, she was meeting rock legends from Keith Moon to Jimi Hendrix (the largest cast in her collection). Later, she was the subject of the 1977 Kiss song "Plaster Caster" and Frank Zappa became her patron.
