M14 Drivetrain Choices

I wondered what people would think about this as a potential engine option on the M14? It’s a VW 3.2L V6 from the Audi TT that has been fitted with garret turbo charger to produce 400bhp.

Therefore it is fairly similar is size weight and output to the Duratech unit that Noble currently uses. However the big difference is that it can be hooked up the VW DSG gearbox. Considering that the M14 is aimed at the Ferrari F430 market I would have thought that the DSG box would be a good selling point becaue it is a superior system to the automated manual that Ferrari use.

The M14 has a longditudal engine, the veyron gear box might be a goer but otherwise they are the wrong way round.

Yes you appear to be right, I assumed that the M14 would carry over the transverse engine mounting of the M12 but the website says it's longditudinal. It seams a bit odd that on the M14 where they are attempting to improve space inside the vehicle they would have gone for what is typically a less space efficent design.

I think the Veyron gearbox weighed in at something like 150kg so I would guess it would be out of the question on a car as light as the Noble.

Does anyone know what gearbox the M14 will be using?
