I'm thinking of buying one.

Is anybody using one and do you have any problems hearing it?

Note sure about TomTom1 but I have the same system but on my IPAQ. I also have the Quicksilver exhaust fitted - obviously it may get a little tricky to hear at 8K RPM but the rest of the time, no problems at all.

not sure it'll be possible to hear anything in an S1. There's quite a bit of noise .I have the Lotus sport exhaust and I don't think it's particularly loud, but it's not easy to hear my nav ( mio navigator) .

The other option if you have a PDA, is an amplified mount with built in GPS ~£70 + about another 70 or less if you shop around for the software. That is plenty loud enough. Plus you can get amusing voices - eg Yoda - At the roundabout, the third exit you must take...may the force be with you.

I'll find a try before you buy place with one of the tomtoms and see what they are like.

Where do you get the Yoda voices from?

Phil - I will email it to you. Not a very big file. It is not the official tom tom voice, but works with the tom tom system. There are loads of voices - austen powers, ozzie osborne, darth vader etc etc.

Thanks Andy. Do you know whether it works with the all in one Tom Tom units or just the PDA version?

I think the voice files are the same - I have them on a PDA, but will try to upload them onto my wife's Tom Tom one, which BTW I reckon is a good bit of kit for the elise.

I've got the basic Tom Tom 300 and it's fine in the Elise. I have it resting on the drivers door sill, no problems hearing it even with the Larini.
