Distracting hairstyles...

I am rather concerned.
As I was walking back from the hairdresser's yesterday, admittedly after having something rather drastic done, I found that quite a few drivers were staring at me, and indeed one woman definitely did a double take! I'm just wondering if being distracted by slightly unusual hairstyles is a common phenomenon?!
