Not sure what to do with this letter, ideas?
Discussion
I was told a while ago by someone that one way to get rid of anger or frustration was to put all my feelings in a letter to the person, but don't send it. So firstly, has anyone else ever tried this?
Anyway, I tried it tonight. A letter all about how I've always felt I've never fitted into my school and felt to a certain extent victimised becasue of my background. Its addressed to my headmaster. Problem is, I'm really tempted to send it to him, just to show him what his school is really like.
Ideas? Should I send it or just delete it?

i think it depends on how 'emotional' it is. it might help the school do things better if they know how you feel - but that might mean re-drafting the letter. also i'd make sure your parents are aware / discuss it with them - it'll only get back to them anyway and i personally think it's better to 'keep them in the loop'.

Forget it! loads of us had shit times at school.
Move on just like everyone else does.
Its a waste of your time!
how about if you take out any information that could identify you or the school ,and post the letter up here.
The PH massive can judge better then, it might be that the school would be well served in reading it, it might be that you would get labelled as some kind of discident for ever.

Sorry, but firstly, whats discident?
I'm not going to put it up on here as it contains a load of stuff that I'd prefer not to publicise.
You're missing out the key part - write the letter and then *burn* the
ing thing. And if in a few days you feel like writing another, write it, and burn that too. And over and over. It's meant to be a cathartic moment, not just a moan on a bit of paper. Writing it down, with no constraints and no-one standing over your shoulder, is a mechanism for releasing some pent-up emotion. The whole point is that it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, that's why you don't send it on, it's what you feel.
Hang on, I've just read "delete it". If you sit down with pen and paper and actually *write*, you may find that a lot of emotion is directed down the barrel of the pen.
Bloody hell, I need a lie-down and some tofu now.

No, don’t send it, it will do no good if written in anger. The point of the exercise is personal relief (hence the suggestion made above
). You could throw it, or file it but if you want them to know how you feel, wait a day or two and whilst not in a state of anger re-write it. You may feel angry again when you do, if so don’t send it but keep trying until you can write exactly how you feel without emotion, then you have it right, and send it.

i have missed the point. throw it!
What is the point in writing down a load of heart felt stuff and not giving it to the person?
If you don’t send it, they will never know. Why the hell should you stew over something that’s eating your insides whilst they sit at home drinking malt whiskey thinking they’ve made the world a better place?
Send it and stand up for yourself.
