A friend of mine is trying to get to New York in time for Christmas Lunch, anyone know any good scams to get there on the cheap ?

She doesn't mind flying Christmas morning as long as she gets there in time for Christmas dinner.

Any help or website links would be very much appreciated.

I think your friend will find that no matter who she flies with, fares are considerably cheaper if you chose to fly on Christmas day. Expedia.co.uk is normally a good start, otherwise try virgin atlantic or BA direct, ebookers.com, etc...

That sounds good - how do you arrange that ?

I believe they usually have agents on street corners in the less salubrious parts of town. The introductory phrase "I'd like to carry your parcel through customs" does the trick...

I'm not quite sure that's what she has in mind but thanks for the suggestion.

She could try American Airlines, I flew to Boston a couple of months ago and they were £1100 cheaper than BA!

PS
How's your Cossie powered S coming along now, is it all finished?

Brilliant, AA have a flight for £336, half the price of BA and Virgin. I think that should do it.

Cossie was going fine - but I have starter motor probs at the moment. minor blip so hopefully will be sorted in time for me to be out on the road in her over Christmas

That sounds a very good price, I found the service was excellent too - better than BA to be honest!

Glad to hear the car is finished, Phil should get you a new starter motor installed in no time

Did you have to make any mods to the chassis at all?

Also, did you have to swap over the ECU?

yes the ECU was swapped over - I still have the old one, keep meaning to advertise it on the S forum.

No mods to the chassis needed .... yet !!
