How long before the blades get blunt and it's time to replace? I think mine is getting a little worn now, and it is umpteen years old!

dunno, but at £130 a pop for the new fangled ones.... i'm sure they should last until the end of time

Havn't changed anything in maybe 5 years, still going strong. You can get replacement heads (cutting blades and cover) which makes it brand new again for a fraction of the cost.

When weighing up the refurbish vs renew equation please remember the batteries on rechargeables these days have a design life of ~ 5 years.

Battery price set to make sure you buy a new razor.

Or so I've been told. :ahem:

Anyway blade material on new shavers is much much better and remains sharper longer than old stuff.

blades / foils last about 2 years only for me ( tough beard ) - you should replace both together , would cost about £20 - £30 ish.

BUT - when I was faced with this I bought a new razor ,( discounted from £80 to £40 on the web ),which is a better product and with new batteries ( triple foil head Remington - shaves really well )
