Hope they stuff him. If someone says "what you've said to me is offensive", you can't go saying it again and then say that you didn't mean to cause offense.
I'm all for someone sticking to their guns if they have principals, perhaps he should have stuck to his when he said that he'd not run against Labour as an independent or when he said that he would not raise the congestion charge beyond £5.
His double standards are amazing. Apparently the Evening Standard has mounted a 24 year campaign against him and anyone who writes for it is supporting the fascist background of the paper's owners.
Would that include 'Ken Livingstone' who wrote restaurant reviews for the paper?
Wasn't it the Evening Standard which scuppered Jeffery Archer and then supported Livingstone?
I can see his weasel logic in saying that calling a Jew a concentration camp guard isn’t directly racist but at heart it’s his choice of metaphor – going for the emotional jugular - which is.
Banning from office would be getting off lightly.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mr Livingstone said: "We're still in a position where tomorrow I could be suspended from office or barred for five years.
"I don't want to say anything to upset them in the next 24 hours."
i.e. I know I'm going to be exonerated but I want everyone to know I've learnt my lesson (don't get caught on tape saying that sort of thing).
I don't often agree with the things Ken Livingstone do and say. But hay I don't live in London either, so don't give a
anyway. However I don't see why he should apologise either. The reporter was making a
of himself. Ken told him was not going to give an interview there and then. The guy was clearly trying to goad some sort of response and I expect was really gleeful when Ken said what he did.
I see now we have a missing 5 seconds of tape. This thing just gets more silly the longer it goes on.

When you are a publicity seeking opportunist like Livingstone you have to expect to be doorstopped. Being rude to a journalist is foolhardy but that's not my problem, it's that he is anti-semetic, he does think that the ethics he lays down for other don't apply to him and he's bad for London.
I'm in the US this week, so I've not seen The Standard, there is nothing on This Is London. How are they treating it?
