I've just had a letter through putting up leccy prices to about 16p for a day time unit, 10p after 728kWh and 3.7p for night rates. Is this expensive and who else can I go to for leccy?

Sounds a bit basic, but I've never had to sort this kinda thing out before and I'm at a complete loss.

Sounds like you're with PowerGen?

They've got to pay for all those 'witty' adverts somehow!

Actually - the thing that really got me was the fact they apologised for putting up prices then said they'd give me an extra £10 off for using direct debit...why they just couldn't leave prices as it was is beyond me...

I was with Amerada, they sold gas and electricity so cheaply that apparently they could have been making a loss on it.

They duly got taken over by PowerGen who sent me a lovely letter informing me of this fact and giving me my new prices (with no comparision to the old ones), all worded as if they were doing me a favour.

I don't call price hikes a good thing!

I'm back with Scottish Power (no idea if they sponsor or advertise), capped for a while which seems a good idea in hindsight!
