Does anyone know of any decently priced hotels around here? Looked on several websites but can't find any. Looking for an overnight stay on Wednesday.

Cheers,

Chilli.

there is a travelodge up bloomsbury road (i think) about 75 quid a night...
Its nothing special, but I stayed there once after a night out with the lads.

Its clean, basic and is pretty much like all the motorway hotels (except bigger)

I've just stayed at the Strand Palace Hotel, just off Covent Gardens. It was an OK place... reasonably cheap.

You're going to struggle there I think for anything half decent.
I would recomend St.Martins Lane Hotel, St MArtins Lane. Very trendy with a great bar and restaurant, but they start at around £200.

Yeah, thought so, just a bit reluctant to spend much more than that when I'll only be in there for about 5 hours!! Xmas "do" and all that!

www.londontown.com has done me some excellent rates on the good stuff in the past - enough to pay for the hideously overpriced drinks in the bar before...

Citadines on Northumberland Avenue, just off Trafalgar square (www.citadines.com).
More apart-hotel than hotel. Hunt around for the best deal (lastminute, late-rooms etc...)

Lurvely!

These are excellent value for money. We stayed in the white hall in Russel Sq last time, and there's also the Portland which is nice. Recommended by a fellow PH'er and I would recommend them again.

Both within easy walking distance of Covent Garden, about 5 mins IIRC.

Surf the web, as you can get their rooms cheaper than they advertise them on their own site.

Another vote for the Strand Palace.
Around £100 per night and a really excellent location.

Laterooms.com.. Virtually never pay more than £100 for a room in the city, but rarely get a bad one. Trick is to book more or less at the last minute, (unless you're heading there in a very busy season). Been known to book it from my PDA whilst pulling in Kings Cross..
