If ever i want something i pay the price, but if i want ten of something i try to get a deal,if i want 100 of something then i deffinately want a deal, even more with a thousand and so on.
So why is it whenever something special happens they put Flight and hotel prices up?

My friends and i are looking, have been looking to go to the world cup next summer and by the reports in the news there are upwards of 100,000 England fans looking to make the trip.
we had a bit of a chat last night and it was mentioned that flights and hotels have increased 6 fold ,theiving bds
Weve come to the conclusion that buying an old transit(although i fancy an old London bus, with me driving ) and taking some tents might be the cheapest option to go to WC 2006.
Anyone else making the trip and how are you getting there?

its the same for any big event like the olympics, or a grand prix, i've also heard that hotels around the nurburgring put their prices up when there's a big meeting on.
holiday companies put their prices up during the school holidays.....its just business i suppose.

You're ignoring the supply part of the supply demand chain. If you want a thousand of something but there are only 900, and a bloke next you is prepared to offer more......

I guess you'll be able to find a few more Routemasters for sale now, although I did hear that the going rate was £12k!!!!!

Just seems a shame as the hideous price rises count your average bloke in the street out,if he wants to take his boys/kids/family to a large sporting event.
I can undertsand the supply and demand bit taking it to double, but X many is just greed i feel.
I thought Routemaster prices were starting around 5K,,,12 grand

We will probably go to one of the big camp sites they designate for the England fans,we were talking about the portable showers you can get that are solar heated to keep us fresh

I'm going to Berlin with my footie team for 5 days in June (21-25). We've got flights for £90 return and a hotel for £30 a night. Theres a couple of matches on while we're there so we'll try and get tickets then. Hopefully we'll get some for Ukraine v Tunisia! We booked before the draw last week.

[edit] oh yeah the hotel rooms have been organised by a nice German fella we know so he must have got us a good deal
