Argh! Missed TG tonight
Discussion
It wont be repeated on Tuesday because of a really tiny dull boring minority interest game thats being covered 25 hours a day for the next three decades despite having a total national audience of only six, an internationl audience of about eleven, a theatre full of empty seats and more players on site than there are fans. But it gets lots of coverage because all they have to do is set an outside broadcast camera up, press the red button and all clear off for a few weeks, so its cheap telly really. I understand that knitting has a much bigger audience, but has never had any coverage, funny that.

Cheers.. that should do the trick! Bloody snooker... Chas n Dave have a lot to answer for!
Brilliant, snooker season is upon us again
. What better way to spend a dreary hung over sunday than to light the fire and relax for a day infront of the box. Top tv if you ask me

you didnt miss anything, another pointless race which we all knew the result of before it started
Which was terminally biased by ensuring that May wasn't instrument rated, and was flying a plane that could'nt actually fly over the alps.

Its called entertainment. Stop moaning. I thought it was fun, wish they'd showed more of how quick the Veyron really was though.
I wonder if JC picked up any tickets stomping through France? (Mind you, he had to wait for the camera car anyway - looked like a Range Rover so at close to maximum attack velocity of 110ish mph it probably slurped more fuel to keep up with the veyron using part throttle).

It may just be "entertainment" but I think it's actually got to the level where it is insulting to the intelligence. Are we really supposed to believe that very time they do one of these "races" they end up neck and neck over the final 50 yards?
Its like a soap - people watch those and enjoy the various crises afflicting the residents of whatever street, but when they switch off they know its all a show and the lesbo murderer psycho is really a normal but over botoxed posho bint who lives in Kenginston.

thats not happened everytime. the SLR to Finland(?) for instance?

also the journey to switzerland had a few odd things if it was staged - for instance a brilliant reaction from Hammond and May when they saw the Ferrari pass them in Verbier, and also because the sound recordists heavy breathing after he ran after the Ferrari can be heard quite clearly if you listen for it. there are not many occasions on TV where you hear the sound recordist dying, and certainly not when its staged.
so call me naive, but i think its real. and its great entertainment.

Don't know if it has been mentioned elseware but did anyone spot that the numberplate on Mansell's Liana changed on one of the shots of his "quicklap"?
Ignore that question as it has already been done on GG - muststayawakeattheback!
