Please can we keep our collective eyes open for me folks

Desperately desperately desperately need a centre console in grey. Mine is still bare (sprayed silver) fibreglass. Every time I get in the car I wince as the rest of it is fine albeit slightly weather beaten. I don't want to bodge it by covering it without padding, and think I will get it cheaper if someone is breaking theirs....

It's a light grey S3C.

Not so sure the standard one has much in the way of padding underneath the plastic/leather covering tbh Mike. I would have thought you could cover it yourself, got to be better than the current state, just put a bit of felt under it if you want it padded .

Felt, now theres a thought I'm tempted to have a go as I am pretty pedantic about the stuff I do, but it won't have the obligatory stitching marks in the correct place. However, as you rightly say, it certainly can't look worse than it does.

Where do you reckon I can get some grey leather?

I'll have a gander on fleabay, that's always a good starting point.....

I would do test job/template in leatherette myself. You could spend the time getting the shape just right, then get one made out of leather professionally with stitching etc.

I'll give it a go, if it goes pearshaped I can always pull it off.....I have just found a metre of leatherette on ebay for £7.00. It's black, but the top of my dash is black, with the seats being grey....I reckon it may look ok.

I'm sure when I gave psychoberts a squeeze it had a layer or two under it...

Can I ask someone to prod theirs for me.

It does have a layer or two of something under the leather; quite a difference between your V6 and the V8. Ought to have the V8 with me next week so happy to pop around and let you have a look.

Better still, how about we go for a hoon and scare some locals?

Mike - might have got around to emailing you last night when taking a look around ebay; found a guy offering to sell allsorts of TVR related leather parts. Do a search for TVR and gaiter and you ought to find it..

So, Mon or Tues any good for a hoon?

Got it! Thanks Simon, I reckon if I cover the console in black, a grey gaiter will look ok.
Must consult the silverback calendar for availability. That's the trouble with shifts and having a son bonkers on after school physical activity.

I'll get back on here later when the kids are sorted - he's kicking lumps out of people in karate tonight.
