Thanks for volunteering. I'm happy to help in any way I can.
Chris
Chris, I have no problem in helping to run it next year but this time I would like to see more help with the organising, I belive we need about 4 people to be in the frame, IMHO 2 was not enough.
Derek - You and Mike did a great job last year, especially with the demise of Silverstone TVR and the necessary change of venue but you're right, two people are not enough especially if SCHIV is going to be the biggest and best yet.
So is there anyone else out there who wants to get there hands dirty and help lay it on.
That time already..................I guess it is?
Unfortunately I dont think I will be able to give this the time it needs this year, a change of job is keeping me very busy (you might have noticed I am not on here as much either
) I am of course willing to help out as and when I can but I think its time for someone else to take the lead and I personally think Derek is the natural choice. Like Derek said though 2 people are really not enough and with him and Chris that would be a very good team, but a few other helpers would make for a great SCH4. So come on guys volunteer to help organise SCH4, its hugely rewarding and you get input to make the day how you would like it
When I get a spare half an hour I will try to give you a call Derek to have a chat about what I may or may not be able to help with.
Later
Mike

Ok
I did think Mike was a bit quiet recently and I will take the reins for the main organiser if that suits everybody.
Here is my proposal.
Date: 24th June 2006 (I have my reasons for this early date and will elaborate when able)
Venue: Ettingham Chase Stratford on Avon
I propose a two day event with very reasonable priced accomadation for those who want to stay and barbeque on the Saturday night.
On the Sunday we will offer a mass hoon and possible drag strip session on the basis of run what you brung.
I have provisionally booked the venue and need the following assistants.
1) Raffle organiser (how about it Mike)
2) Hoon organiser
3) Trade stands organiser (probably me)
4) Car cark organiser (lined up in series this year)
5) Treasurer & prize organiser ( barbee money etc)

it might be worth the while of the organisers of the Griff Growl, BBWF getting together ato get Trade stands sorted for all the events (if companies can see a big backing with big numbers albeit over a few weekends they might make more of an effort)
..... like wise with swapping ideas etc on what works and what doesn't to entertain during the day.
... and may be discount on venue for hotel rooms (with the numbers they might be able chuck something in for free/discount/ vehical marshalling ?????
You attending all 3 last year probably can see the benifits of most of these suggestionss

Hi Hoover - how's that noisy Griff of yours ?
Re BBWF Traders : Again like the other single marque events - the BBWF is free for traders and all TVR owners : so if a trader thinks it's worth attending then that's OK. If they did not get much out of it then they are more than welcome to just send us some leaflets / samples etc.. no pressure.

Just been pointed out to me there could be a problem with Le Mans probably the week before, I will revisit the date.
Before anybody asks about August, no chance, something big in the offing .which will be confirmed to me Tuesday next
Derek
Santa Pod is not a million miles away - they have a RWYB on :

hi Derek, perhaps May would be better for getting a bigger turn-out, providing its not the end of the month when the little darlings are off school for the week, and most race meetings etc being later in the summer, possibly the only down side is the weather, sometimes in may its like the middle of june, or it can also turn and feel like march!
should be brilliant whatever the out come, you can never please every one, in the end if they are keen enough they`ll be there!!

Actually, of late May has been one of the better months,I quite fancy SCH this time of the year, particularly with other expensive things happening in later months.
Lets see if the membership agree.
